Applicationd as organic chemical raw materials and solvents, mainly used for the production of ethylene glycol, ethanolamine and non-ionic surfactants.

It is mainly used in the manufacture of various other solvents (such as cellulolytic agents), diluents, non-ionic surfactants, synthetic detergents, antifreeze agents, disinfectants, tougheners and plasticizers. It can also be used as fumigant, coating thickener, emulsifier, adhesive and paper sizing agent.
